Several years ago I started feeding my family a gluten and dairy free diet upon the recommendation of my son's doctor.  Through much trial and error, I developed a new way of cooking and living.  Since my friends and family are always curious about my recipes, I decided to put them here where they are easy to share.

If you've stumbled across this site and wonder why anyone would choose such a diet, I've provided some information about celiac disease, gluten sensitivity and dairy sensitivity.   According to recent studies, sensitivity to gluten is common, underdiagnosed and believed to be an underlying reason for many health problems.   For me, changing my diet has been a life changing experience.  Sometimes hard, but well worth the effort.  I feel better than ever.

If you came here looking for medical help, I recommend finding a provider who regularly treats patients with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.  There are a number of organizations listed below which promote alternative medical approaches that focus on the underlying causes of disease.  Many of them list subscribing doctors on their websites.

The Autism Connection
There are doctors who treat autism using alternative treatments, often including food sensitivity testing.  Some only see pediatric patients, while others will also see adults.  Check with individual doctors to verify services:

The American Dietetic Association allows a search based on specialty, including food allergies and intolerances, celiac disease and digestive disorders, by geographic area.
